The Musee de Cluny was the first museum I visited during my stay in Paris. As opposed to all the museums I visited later on like the Louvre, Versailles or the Rodin Museum, much of the artwork in the Cluny Museum focused on religion.
As I walked in I noticed in the dark room, many sculptures of saints and religious tapestries were being displayed. I believe that the pieces were focused on religion because during the Middle Ages people were firm believers of religion. The monarchy was so united with religion that if you were not part of the church you would be executed or exiled from the community. Also, art was used to search for God.
The room that caught my attention was the room with the stained glass widows. They are original pieces from the Sainte-Chapelle which we also visited towards the end of our stay.
"The Lady and the Unicorn," one of the most famous pieces in the museum was unfortunately not on display when we visited the museum.
