Pictures on the wall and beautiful motionless sculptures are easy to admire, but nothing beats the art of nature. The Museum of Natural History is a different type of museum compared to the ones we visited during our stay in Paris. Art teaches us the importance of knowing where we come from and the desire to study the nature of every living species.
I first decided to tackle the Gallery on Paleontology. I was very impressed by the multiple species they have on display. The size of some animals was mind-blowing, I had never seen such enormous skeletons up close.
When I saw the frames of the dinosaurs, I was in complete awe. I could almost imagine what they were like million of years ago. If dinosaurs would not have gone extinct, I really doubt we could have survived to such enormous species. Other animals such as the whale that is on display on the first floor make me think how insignificant we are to animals of such mass.
There was a whole wall with dissected animals and organs of several species. To me, it was like being back in my science class where we had to study the insides of different organisms.
I believe this was one of the most informative museums we visited and one of my favorites. If I every return to Paris, I will go back to this museum and study more in detail the many figures they have on display.
